Best Mac for Gauntlet Legends and Dark Legacy

I currently have a 2011 base model Mac mini with the Intel HD 3000 Graphics which obviously cannot run Gauntlet Legends or Dark Legacy at a fluid rate.
So I obviously will need to step up to an iMac or I could get a halfway decent gaming laptop (as I don't really want a desktop unless there are really cheap ones with good graphics cards out there).
Currently the 21.5" base model iMac comes with a GeForce 640M with 512 MB of VRAM and i5-3330S. Will that suffice for playing these games and any heavy 3D games in MAME?

Those games don't run properly 100% on anything due to driver bugs, I wouldn't buy hardware based on their current state. Unless it's a used Nintendo 64 to play that port.
