70s Street Machines

Stumbled across this tumblr today. Even if you're not super into cars, it's chock full of late-70s/early-80s awesomeness.

Thats cool... I just finished up a 40 willys coupe & 55 chevy. Both set up old
gasser style. I grew up around that stuff and well the rest is history LOL !

working on a mitsubishi eclipse now, putting a twin turboed late gen corvette motor
in it. Building all the custom suspension components and engine mounts for the front.

Next week the same customer has a rx7 set up the same way & I will begin putting in
a narrowed ford 9 inch rearend.. both street cars, the rx is his and the eclipse is
his girl friends...

Muscle cars... gotta love em.

Ooooh, can I be your apprentice?

Always been a car nut, but never really knew anyone growing up who did anything more than put gas in them. I finally started learning a little in my 20s, out of necessity, but I never really had a proper garage (or even a driveway, in some cases) to work in. I'd still love to get my hands on some kind of vintage toy someday, unfortunately that's extremely low on the priority list at the moment.

A friend of mine is doing a '40 Willys Sedan project right now, it's coming together pretty nicely: http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrewlw/sets/72157632013741344/show/

Some other pretty cool stuff at my buddy Steve's place too: http://limeworkspeedshop.com/gallery.html

Dmala, if you ever make your way to the west coast, hit me up and I'll apprentice you.

Kudos to him for putting tasteful wheels on it. I hate, hate, hate the giant ugly rims and ultra low profile tires it seems like all customs get these days.

I can't begin to imagine the circumstances where that would happen, but if it does, I'm totally taking you up on that.

I have some pics of stuff I have done. One of these days I will upload em somewhere
and post the link. I love doing the custom fabing work. Uses my brain and at my age
thats an advantage ! lol...

I have some pics of projects that are kinda blow by blow and some are just start and
finish pics... now i will have to find a place to upload...
