So, we can laugh at the awful misinterpretations of the lyrics?
"Searching for my love sugar and salt?"
I know there are more in there, but given my limited facility with Spanish, I'll not point them out.

Coherance of posts inversely proportional to Foster's consumption!!!

I've always heard that, but I've never heard any suggestions for what constitutes a good Australian beer. And are any of them exported? We have some pretty good liquor stores around here with beers from all over the world, and I don't recall seeing any Austrailian beers other than Fosters.

You need to know how it compares to the beverages it's imported to compete with, to answer that question.
Not that I can say. Have stayed away from anything marketed as beer or lager for some decades now.

Well, the Australian beers I like are all from the smaller breweries. Some of the ones I like at the moment are:
- Matilda Bay Fat Yak
- James Squire Golden Ale
- White Rabbit Dark Ale
- White Rabbit Pale Ale
- Four Pines Hefeweizen
- Four Pines Kolsch
- Little Creatures Original Pilsner
- Bluetongue Premium Lager
Yeah, my wife and I drink a fair bit of beer. Some of the mainstream Australian beers aren't too bad. I never thought I'd turn into a beer ponce, but here I am. Tooheys Red isn't bad for a cheap beer, and Pure Blonde is OK to have occasionally. Some of the stuff from Coopers and Boag's is OK, too. Cascade and Crown are drinkable.
There are some really shitty beers in that are drunk very widely in Australia, including XXXX Gold (midstrength lager, currently most popular beer in Australia), Vic Bitter (which isn't actually a bitter, it's a lager), Carlton Draught, West End Draught, and any of that Emu shit that some bogans in remote WA drink.

Really? I might shrug my shoulders and agree if I hadn't had both draft and bottle, but the bottle is pretty darn bitter to me.

Oh it tastes bitter, I'm not disputing that. It's just that calling a beer a "bitter" like that generally means it's an English pale ale (i.e. fermented at room temperature with top fermenting yeast, some residual malt sugars remaining after fermentation, and fairly strongly hopped). Vic Bitter and Melbourne Bitter should be called Vic Lager and Melbourne Lager, because they're fermented at reduced temperature, and the malt sugars are fully consumed during fermentation. They're lager by definition. Yeah, I'm a beer ponce

So what's your favourite Japanese beer? I've taken fondly to Yebisu, and Coedo is nice to have once in a while, but neither of them are easy to find in Australia. There's shitty Asahi-branded stuff from Thailand and Singapore in bottles that doesn't taste like Asahi in Japan everywhere here.

I'm not much of a beer lover. I'll Drink a Kirin Ichiban as quick as an Asahi. But as far as Chu-hi type drinks go, Lemon flavored Asahi Slat hands down over anything Kirin or Sapporo makes.
When I can find it, I like a good Tripel.
