Maybe someone else will find this useful: I wrote a quick script to search through the INI file and add a "Unknown Category" entry for anything that doesn't already have a category.
MAMEWAH always includes anything that doesn't have a category, so when you're trying to create a filtered list, you end up with a bunch of stuff you didn't want. After running the script, you can filter out "Unknown Category" and get a nice, clean filtered list. Not sure, but maybe this is useful for other frontends as well?
Anyhow, just drop this script in the same folder as catver.ini and (on a Windows box) double-click to run it. It should spit out catver - FIXED.ini, which you can then rename and put wherever you need it.
One thing I noticed while debugging this script, it looks like wwfsstara doesn't have a version added *or* a category?
