A new sysinfo release!
#303214 - 01/25/13 09:02 AM

At projectMESS you can find a brand new release of sysinfo.dat.

Additions include all the new systems supported in MESS 0.148, plus a lot of additional loading instructions for Eastern Europe home computers, so that you will be now able to load tapes from their software lists easily, instead of blindly typing monitor commands and crossing your fingers.

Thanks!

Oh, aren't you supposed to have a blank line between the monitor commands? Or doesn't that apply now.

I had no UI handy to see the result. are the commands displayed without breaks? if so, let me know and I will update the generation script soon...

The usual way in MAMEUI (and therefore MESSUI) was that a succession of lines of text would be concatenated into one line wrapped around as needed. A blank line would indicate a line break.

However I've heard that qmc2 simply displays it verbatim, ignoring tradition. And I've also heard that history.dat has been changed to work specifically with qmc2, breaking MAMEUI's display. However that needs to be confirmed as I have not tested it myself, and I do not have qmc2.

So, firstly some testing with the various frontends needs to be done, and if the above is confirmed, you'll have to decide which way to go.

History.dat should work with all known frontend and interface.

The problem in MAMEui is the strange "Return" system. Anyway, this should be easily fixable in the MAMEui source.

Thanks, that confirms what I had heard.

So, etabeta, it's now up to you to decide how you want to format your data.
