Running a modified ROM set

Is there a runtime way to disable the CRC check so I can run a modified ROM set? If not can someone point me to the associated C file so I can disable the check and recompile the code?
Thanks

No for the former and haven't a clue about the latter, sorry.

There's something you can do like "extract the ROMs to a folder and name the ROM files the same as the set you're modifiying and MAME will complain but continue to load the ROMs" but I forget the specifics. It's something like this.

Thanks. This should probably be in the FAQ if it's not already, Tafoid. I can think of a reason why an arcade tech., having dumped a fresh ROM set, could use it

I have already tried what you posted and no luck.
I am running version 0.147 in debug mode(debug 1) and trying to run a modified Missile Command ROM set. When I try to run the modified ROMs from the windows interface I get the following message.
"The selected game is missing on or more required ROM or CHD images. Please select a different game."
When I try to run the ROM set from the command prompt I get the following
"035822-02.kl1 NOT FOUND ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run."
The ROM that is noted as missing is the one that has been modified. As soon as I put the unmodified 035822-02.kl1 image in the directory the ROMs run.
Is there something I am missing to force the ROMs to load??
Thanks

I got it working. I have not been able to figure out the problem yet. I was zipping up the files to move them and that may have caused a problem.
Thanks for all your help
