How to enable the "Use System Memory" option in StretchMAME?

I can't figure out how to use the "Use System Memory" graphics option in StretchMAME. It's not in Stretchmame's ini or in the tab options menu.

... dude, that version of MAME hasn't been updated since 2002.

And the problem that "use system memory" was meant to solve was fixed by MS in DX6 or DX7, I believe ;-)
