Does having kids lower your tolerance for alcohol?

I dunno if it's stress or fatigue or what, but since my kids were born I've lost the ability to drink. 2.5 beers in and I'm fucking hammered. Same thing happened a couple of weeks ago. It kind of sucks, I'm not really one to go out and get trashed. A couple of drinks to unwind after the babies are in bed, and I end up stumbling around the place.

I think you just drink a lot faster with kids. Always in the back of your mind that they could wake up any second and ruin the party...

Wait until they are teenagers! You will be glad 2.5 beers get you hammered. Plus it's a cheaper drunk!

You're probably on to something there. God knows I shovel food in at an alarming rate these days for the same reason.

My first guesses would be drinking less frequently because of less free time so lower tolerance overall and busier taking care of them so less time to eat, less snacking per day = less on the stomach to soak it up.

Same thing happens with me. I can suck down 4 Heineken's while having a MAME night or smashing shit with my barbarian playing D3 and I'm pretty blitzed.
If a bunch of friends are over than I can tolerate more, but usually I drink alone after everyone's in bed.

Sure did for me...probably because I don't/can't drink nearly the amounts I used to. Tolerance level down big time.

Same here...
Once the kids showed up, drinking one or two drinks is enough. I have to hope I don't crash into crap.
