Then it appears the real issue is not that Patreaus had a mistress, just that he did not bone the hot one? I'm confused. Maybe its that the CIA director couldn't hid a secret from his wife? Maybe his wife should be CIA director?

I'm not sure we can rule out Petraeus having slept with her. This whole thing broke because the mistress was sending her jealous e-mails. The mistress must have had some reason to believe she had competition.
