Possible evidence that we are living in a simulated universe according to physicists, and the Huff Post.

Life seems a little too random for me to subscribe to any of this.

So wait, we're in a supercomputer and it can't even run Voodoo3D MAME games at 100%?

Nope, can't have this, as it leads to a religion discussion.

This "evidence" is new, but this philosophy has been around awhile:

The first Matrix as a utopia for the humans whose minds inhabited it did in fact run every MAME game at 100%. However, the human minds rejected this first attempt as a perfect world and beta 1 of the Matrix crashed. Subsequent versions of the Matrix run MAME at less desirable speeds, which seems to keep the Matrix stable. The Architect keeps meaning to look at why, but MAME developers move at their own pace, and bugging him to fix it will only likely delay his getting around to it.

The argument in the OP story is just silly. The resolution of a simulated universe can be as low as the simulation's creator likes, because the observed rules within the universe will exactly correlate with the design specifications. If there is some limit at which direction affects things, there will be a natural cause. We don't have everything worked out at that scale.

Things like these are what put atheists and believers in internal conflicts. First we have the atheists, affronted to the idea there could be a creator after all. Next we have the believers, affronted to the idea there's a God but it doesn't care for each one of us as the church tries to make us believe under its "money for faith" business.

I'm agnostic with catholic traditions, so while the idea amazes me and sounds unreal but plausible, it still doesn't change anything for me true or not.

People react terrified to the possible idea we're into a game, we must not confuse. There aren't NPCs or players in a simulation. Well, there could be a player but that's up to the creator itself. The rest of us would be a result from said simulation.

On the other hand, what if we are the firsts on the chain to create a simulation?
