Cabmame 0.146 Soundsync Issue

I just upgraded from Cabmame 0.141 to Cabmame 0.146, but Soundsync seems to be broken as the sound is all over the place in R-Type and Kung Fu Master. I am using the 32bit, Command Line version. Is there a version of 0.146 with Soundsync fixed or will it be fixed for 0.147

i strongly recommend you switch to mameuifx, it now incorporates all of the best/main features of cabmame, and (in my opinion) is much better overall. give version 0.147 a try:

From what I have read Mameuifx 0.146 has the same soundsync problem as Cabmame 0.146. Also I need the 32bit Command Line version, rather than UI

i dont have mameuifx 146 installed but i tried kung fu master using 147 with soundsync enabled + the game forced from running at 55hz up to 60hz (ie. running at 109%) and i didnt have any sound problems. perhaps you can let me know where you read about the problems? perhaps the sound problems are only present with certain settings (eg. if you have incorrect throttle, draw every frame, other settings, etc)

the mameuifx 147 source is avail at the download page however i dont know anything about compiling or if its possible to generate the command line version from his source etc

last I tried, it worked from command line too: it skips the UI launching directly the game as base MAME MAMEUI did the same, to my knowledge

c:\yourpath\>mameuifx32 -pacman
It still work... otherwise you don't have the ability to create a XML file and the consequentially .DAT file with CLRMAMEPRO or ROMCENTER.

Thanks I have posted a message for Sailorsat on the Cabmame forum. I tested the 32bit version of Cabmame 0.146 on a second computer with different hardware and got exactly the same problem with the sound in both R-Type and Kung Fu Master. I tried standard Mame 0.146 and the sound for those games is fine, so there is definately an issue with Soundsync with the 32bit version of Cabmame 0.146. I also tried Cabmame 0.141 and the sound is perfect in those games. I am running Windows XP SP3 32bit. The hardware is completely different on the two computers I tried this on, but I got the same issue.

I just tried the 32bit version of MAMEUIFX 0.147 and it has exactly the same soundsync issue as Cabmame 0.146. The sound in R-Type and Kund Fu Master is all over the place. I have tried this on two differnt computers with different hardware and get the same issue. I am using 32bit Windows XP SP3 on both.

Does anyone know if it is possible to disable "Soundsync" in the .ini file for Cabmame? As that would solve the problem as I could enable it for game that need it and disable it on games that it causes problems with.

I assume you could just add soundsync 1 or soundsync 0 to the ini files as needed.
Try it and see if it works.

That was the first thing I tried and unfortunately soundsync 1 and Soundsync 0 didn't disable soundsync.
