Didn't see anything about bouts of rage and naked cannibalism.

Then again (honestly) - I didn't read all of it.

And I've said it once (not here) and I'll say it again... Some of the symptoms seems similar to accounts of demonic possession.

First time I heard of people getting high on bath salts, I was like "No fuckin' way. That's dumber than all the people snorting Coke through a straw."

First soft drinks, now hygiene products. What's next? Breakfast cereals like Special K?

Like meth, another drug I have no idea why anyone would even want to try.

A friend of mine has a son who is 24 and acts like he's 16. He's already had issues with pot and other drugs, and a couple of years ago (when they were still legal-ish) he had the nerve to ask for "bath salts" for Christmas, assuming his dad would just buy them from the supplied link and never question what they were. Needless to say, my friend did two seconds of research on Google and bath salts were not purchased. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but you have to admire the raw nerve.

I guess. But are there any cases where a 'schizo' is that manic and requiring several individuals to hold them down and/or still? (just saying)

Also, the tearing of clothes and... flesh.

I'm sure there are other examples I could mention. But there are also some differences.

So what you're saying is what was (once upon a time) considered "demonic possession" now seems as though it might have actually been caused by drug use (or mental disease)?

Good, that's what I thought you meant.

Eh, no. Perhaps I should have worded that differently.

Some of the symptoms of bath-salt abuse seem similar to some accounts of demonic possession or even oppression -to be more accurate.

As an example (a silly one). Someone arrives in Hawaii. They could have gotten there via plane, or via ship, or they swam. They are (pardon the pun) in a 'state', it's just that their method of 'travel' is what's in question.

Someone that could be demon possessed might be in control of all their faculties, but there are times when the demon torments them. Or, they believe a demon is tormenting them. And they might not have taken any drugs at all, and/or could have had relatively well mental health.

To counter the effects of bath salts give the people some fluoride. Rumor has it that this has a calming effect on people.

No doubt... The big chains never get the good stuff. We tried buying some grass at Scott's Lawn & Garden, and it was for crap. They may have volume discounts, but its not worth it.

About a year and a half ago I had to take a state refresher course on this type thing. The group had everyone from cigarettes to batch salts. Most didn't have any idea what the salts were, until the meth heads. Most had seen people use it and were too scared to try it themselves. All of them knew a couple of people who had OD'd. Out of the few that had tried salts, all of them said never again. Even the 1 dealer/cook was trying to stop his meth(ruining his own business). He and a few others had even seen people straight up shooting that stuff! Talk about a death wish. Everyone should have to sit through at least 1 of these type of classes. Might change some peoples minds.

I love the cheesy intros they put on stories about guilty people:

"Dickie Sanders was not naturally prone to depression. The 21-year-old BMX rider was known for being sweet spirited and warm -- a hugger not a hand-shaker. The kind of guy who called on holidays. Who helped his father on the family farm. Who spent countless hours perfecting complicated tricks on his bike."

Because good guys go to drug courts and buy bath salts from a fellow offender.

My second favorite is this one:

Spending hours perfecting complicated tricks sounds a lot like OCD, which is a common symptom of depression. He also seemed to like doing it with as big an audience as possible, judging from the epilogue. Looks a lot like finding validation in others. Yes, another typical depression symptom. What a load of shit, writer obviously doesn't even understand basic psychology.
