DICE 0.4 released

DICE 0.4 has been released! Changes in this version:
Two new games supported: Stunt Cycle [Tingoes for pcb, Guru for dumping roms], Pong Doubles Minor bug-fixes in several games
Good work there by Adam B. imo this release makes DICE the first public release non-cpu emulator that emulates games that use roms/proms.
>"Bring on Death Race and my discrete emulation porn collection is complete!"
I am certain Exidy Death Race (roms and proms from pcb) hasn't been dumped yet by an emufriendly person. It might have been dumped long time ago by repair technicians, but Death Race is one of the collectors pcbs that if it is in working condition no way will they want pcb being soldered just to get roms read. It has to be from a non-working Death Race pcb and then maybe roms can be read/dumped.

Sweet. Just need Sega "Hockey TV" simulation and Shoegazer can remove LASER from his NonMAME page. > Good work there by Adam B. imo this release makes DICE the first public release > non-cpu emulator that emulates games that use roms/proms.

Hopefully some payment deal can be worked out for paperwork or photocopies of it.

Okay. I hope the data was read properly, but I will guess that person knows his stuff very well just like Guru does and made sure data is good and useable for replacing roms on damaged Death Race pcbs.

The two ROMs used are:
N82S115 N82S123B
and need to be in a zip titled "stuntcycle.zip".
You can tell if you've got the right versions or not as the rom files themselves date from '06.

I believe gregf is technically correct; while that Monaco GP component in ancient MAME used the roms from Monaco GP, it really didn't emulate the game - it *simulated* it, as there was no proper emulation involved.

With analogue components you're pretty much always simulating. The only difference between monaco gp and dice is how the circuit is stored. It's accuracy may also be called into question, but that is a whole different ball game.
Maybe he should have been clearer exactly how specific he was being.
"imo this release makes DICE the first public release non-cpu emulator that emulates games that use roms/proms."
It's only in his opinion & he implies there is a non released emulator that uses roms/proms. It might as well have been:
"this release makes DICE the first public release non-cpu emulator called DICE that emulates games that use roms/proms"
fwiw using roms/proms is not a big deal.

There you go:
Mod note: we don't post links to rom sites here.
