Someone brought it up before, I'm not crazy about it because the shit would still be here but maybe it's the only solution since so many of you are buttbaby sissies. A War Room forum at the butthole bottom of the list and I move every bit of shite there, and you can choke each others' dicks out to the latest politics all you want.

How about just making a separate "politics and religion" board. Then make a rule that any politics or religion baiting posts outside of that board will get deleted without warning.

I guess if italie feels like coding it but I don't see how that's much different from adding the words to the filter. It still just blocks the words.

But that's always been the point of the bin... post there what doesn't belong anywhere else, and be warned before ye enter...
Nothing in the bin messes with my day; I choose what to read and what not to read. If I do get offended by something there... my fault. It's always been that way.
Sounds like we're getting old... where's Orc... (and none of this shit would've offended him, btw).

Not really. There weren't always politics and religious posts crapping the bin up, and people have been banned over it, so it's a problem.

Filters are just annoying as you then you can not post things like 'jesus whats wrong with you people'... Not a political or religious thing. Just a 'what is wrong with you'... Then you sit there playing a guessing game about which word you offended the filter with...

I guess that the thing that bugs me is the signal to noise ratio on MAMEWorld as a whole.
I often use the "Past 24 Hours" link from the Main Index page to see all the latest posts and catch up. Lately, the last 24 hours has been 3 pages of flamebaiting and trolling with 2 or 3 legitimate posts about MAME or emulation.
I guess people are just bored and feel like stirring the shit for entertainment.

In a normal post, you shouldn't have a need to use "Jesus! What's wrong with you people?"
If you do have a legitimate reason to use a phrase like that, which directly attacks a group of people, you can substitute "What the hell is wrong with you people?" for the same effect.
If we had automatic word substitution for "Jesus" then you wouldn't have to guess which word wasn't liked when your post has "elmo whats wrong with you people" instead.

Even though I "occasionally" contribute to the religion threads (oops) I actually agree with this. The Bin is for off-topic discussions. I hated back in the day when there were so many religious/political threads but to me, it fit the off-topic motif. You don't HAVE to read the threads, although when you see 20+ replies I can see how it gets old, and would turn people away. Muslims, Christians, Jews, Mormons, and JW's need to realize that people don't agree with them...so fucking what. Whether you're religious or atheist, do good for goodness sake, and condemn and shun those that go against the goodness.
Maybe I'm getting old. Maybe jaded. The Bin ain't as fun as it used to be.
