What is the best and fastest Linux for SDLMAME?
#295579 - 09/11/12 11:54 PM

Looking for one that doesn't make the mouse lag since it does lag on Windows.

On the Windows 7. Any of these on will causes the mouse to lag in a 10 sec or less. Happen on Centipede.

waitvsync
syncrefresh
triplebuffer

Using the source from svn.

Does this happen on Linux?

How I make a mame64.ini on Ubuntu? I try this command mame64 -cc and it told me it won't work. Is there something change on the option? Using 0.145u5.

Did you try ./mame64 -cc while being in the same directory as the mame64 program?

Oh I didn't have the ./ on the mame64 -cc command. Thanks for pointing this out.

Did it work for you, then?

Yep. Made one just fine now.

I found a problem with the mouse support. Doesn't work right at all. Tested Centipde and it apear to be hitting invisible walls or a box. I can wiggle over some but back in a invisible walls or a box again. I don't know why this is happen. This isn't doing this on Windows 7. Seem to be odd the arrows keys doesn't have this effect. Mouse support is broken on Ubuntu when running MAME? Using newest Ubuntu.

Going to try another Linux. I will give Fedora a shot.

This is a bug in MAME; I assumed the guy who submitted the multiple mouse support had actually QAed it and I was very, very wrong. It will be fixed in 0.147.

Will it be in the svn? I just download it from there instead of waiting.

Yes, if you build from current SVN the mouse should work correctly again.
