Here's to a better week than last...

Working long hours to fix very broken code...
Motorcycle lets it's fuel tank loose all over the garage floor...
Car accident with a lady who attempted to hit and run because her daughter was late for dance class...
Truck AND the bike out of commission due to the prior two items...
Five minutes before leaving to be at my brothers wedding, the one year old starts barfing, trashing both our suits. (Might have a broken rib from that fiasco too...)
I've earned the drink this week, hopefully I don't need next weeks.

Crap couple of weeks here myself, involving the removing, rebuilding, reinstalling, removing, rebuilding and reinstallation of a racing engine. The guy I originally subbed the bottom end work to screwed up on the ring fit and the thing had no (well, 80psi) compression on four and blew smoke like an AA meeting. Did it myself and all is good now.
I'll join you in that drink

Been there, that is one of the worst feelings in the world. You go from complete "Ready to burn rubber hard-on" to "Fuuuuuuu..." in .035 seconds.

Why don't you Yankees have some strange, unique, US version of an imperial unit for time? You have one for everything else. It's odd to think, "Oh yeah, we use the same units for that."

Totally aware of that product, but unfortunately the culprit was a main fuel line. A fuel line in an odd size, with a bend that one cannot make using bulk hose (eve using coils). I'm $50 poorer, but the 6" hose should be here Wednesday.

There are 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in a minute. Why don't YOU have some silly metric unit? Day, deciday, centiday, milliday, whatever a ten-thousandth would be, and stop there because you don't care about anything smaller.
Found it, I think. The next would be dimiday.

OK, I have to know... who broke the rib, you, your brother, or the one-year-old? And was barfing the cause or the wedding?

They were second-based, and seconds are an artificial time division. They'd have a better chance being based on days and/or years.
BTW, one of those is where I got the "dimi" prefix. Modern units tend to jump from milli to micro.

Not as great of a story line as one would think...
My wife was already at the wedding with my daughter. I was getting ready with my son. The little guy barfs on the both of us out of nowhere, twice. After, he gets super duper clingy. Won't let me put him at distance enough from my chest to clean up anything. I manage to get both of us out of the puke-suits after 15 minutes, and tried to get him to stand on his own while I clean the floor. I forgot that I left the gate on the stairs open. He starts wandering that way. I had to run to catch up, and dove into the banister just in time to swipe him back from he first step. Nailed my left ribs on the edge as I dove. This startled him even more, and he went right back to clingy-needy mode. There I sat, in my boxers, hugging a puke-smelling child close. And then the doorbell rings. It's my father in law bringing over a new suit for me. ( I had text my wife, apprising her of the situation.) So there I am. Covered in puke. Holding a kid covered in puke. At my front door. In my boxers. Really could't think of much else to say at that point but "Hi Tom."
No clue what caused the puking in the first place. This is my life...

Ah, parenthood.
I'm kind of torn... While I look forward to the time when I am once again allowed to sleep more than 3 hours at a time, my little ones are still immobile at this point and unable to actively try to kill themselves or me, for the most part, which is nice.
