Not only do I not have a Facebook account, I don't even have a cell phone. Well, technically I have my wife's hand-me-down iPhone 3GS, but I basically use it like an iPod. If I'm not on a WiFi network, YOU CAN'T REACH ME, YOU CAN'T FIND ME, I'M INVISIBLE!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Yep, me neither. I must also be the suspicious type.
I don't carry one on the basis that it's an invasion of privacy. Not in the conspiracy-theory sense of the phrase, but in that I often do not want to talk to anybody (nor be reminded of their existence) when I'm not already on-call, which is the vast majority of the time anyway.
Now get off my lawn.

At least weekly, I need to re-enter by name/password to log in to my Gmail account, regardless of my keeping it open whenever the browser is open, which is most of the time. It's open, I watch a video, it's open, I watch a video, I go back, it needs to log in again.
Every time I log in, it asks for a mobile phone number, with just a tiny "skip this" link, which then forces me to confirm that I do in fact wish to "skip this step" despite the enormous benefits afforded by giving them the number to a phone that doesn't exist.

*F* Forbes! And Zuckerberg, too! High-tech elitist scum, that's what they is!
A simple phone call or letter to friends and family usually suffices. Maybe even go out, especially out of their room, and meet them? But noooooooo! Not for these ingrates!
Has anyone else ever braved the Unwarranted Self-Importance mixed with the heavy derp of poorly-written chatspeak? I've seen enough of that upon MySpaz. FapBook is just more of the same.
Millions of people don't use that crap. Most don't even have a need for it! And now they claim anyone who doesn't is someone *NOT* to be trusted? Maybe even *FEARED*? Not everyone who doesn't embrace the next big privacy-raping data mining experiment dressed up as the next high-tech fap^H^H^Hfad in "social networking" (Electronic Socialism? Silicommunism?) is going to be the next Andrei Chikatilo or Ted Kaczynski.
Not that I think about it, don't *F* Forbes and his corporate bootlickers. Don't even let your friends *F* 'em either. They don't deserve a *F*!

I got tired of the repeated demands for my phone number so I gave them my old favorite standby. (612) 555-1212.
I used that number for Tiger Direct, and when I had to talk to them one day I found that thirty two other people had done so as well.

Tiger direct has gotten awful in the last few years, especially with that crap. I stopped there on my way home from work a month ago for a USB hub. Waited 20 minutes in line with 4 people in front of me. Get to the register, lady scans the item.
"Zip code?"
"No thank you."
[3 minutes of typing]
"Phone number for the warranty?"
"No thank you."
[3 minutes of typing]
"Can I have your email to send you special offers?"
"On second thought, why don't you just hang on to this..."
[set hub on counter, walk out]
I hate to be a dick, but it just gets to a point where enough is enough. 20 minutes in line because they need to perform 5 minutes worth of data mining for each customer...lick my nuts.

Good for you. These businesses need to know they're overstepping the boundaries and turning off their customers. I don't want to be tracked, telemarketed or endlessly spammed by you and your "partners." I just want to buy the damn item and not be hounded. If you can't make this transaction simple and anonymous, I will find someone who will.
