They're wearing chain mail armor. They decided that mobs that drop things should be visibly using them. That's what chain mail, which has always been in the game, but unavailable to the player, looks like. You can currently buy it from villagers in 1.3.

As far as I can tell, there is nothing to the setting of them lined up along a wall, they're using dev controls to manipulate them.

The third pic has since been... rescinded. It shows a baby zombie (only able to exist through a zombie attacking a baby villager) wearing unscaled diamond pants (+ properly scaled helmet & boots). Couldn't be left like that due to the animation of the pants as it ran, so they will now be scaled to fit the legs, and we won't see the battle baby.

Huh, I did see a blank sign and assumed I don't know. So that's a bug?

Haven't ridden a mine cart yet, been digging. you know, just digging.

Yes, signs appear intermittently blank. I didn't take any damage while carting around, but there's some definite weirdness with carts being offset a block from the track and clipping through walls/blocks.

Kinda fun looking at how you arrange your stuff too.

We both keep food on 5, with a utility tool to its right on 6 (compass, flint, etc).

We both keep swords on the end, but I'm a 1 man myself, torches on 9.

Actually my whole layout is:

sword, bow, pick, shovel, food, utility, towel, varies, torches.

In case you're curious, I don't go anywhere without my towel.

I did go and trade some coal for emeralds from some dodgy-looking villagers.

Ah, now you gotta go read my edit.. you're online with me it seems.

Only villager I ever saw was the one BludyPhoenix has imprisoned in his base. Guess I ned to get out more.

Ah! Toolbar, got it now. I keep the weapons and torches way over on the right so that I can scroll 1 click left from the pick to the sword when needed, and if I'm exploring using torches then it's just one scroll detent either way for my choice of weapon.

Hint on villagers: 30 meters north of Tfin's compound.

Universal blank signs was a w27 bug that was "fixed" the next release, but now seems back in a less uniform incarnation. I was taking damage sitting in a stationary cart, and occasionally while moving. I went so far as to run home, build, and place sandstone steps to be sure the server had been properly updated.

Experience: The 15 minute zombie timer should get a person from 0 to 26 now. Adding 5 minutes might get it up to 30, the practical maximum.

I've chopped down the enchantment room next to it to better serve, with the new optimum 15 bookshelves. Didn't bother changing the pistons yet though.

Unfortunately, the only ways to get new trades are to either make the current deals (I sold a bunch of books and got 40 emeralds, then gave the same guy back 20 of them for a couple clocks in a bad deal), or kill the villagers to make room for new ones. I didn't see anyone buying wheat.

I found many of them outside the fence, but it started raining and I got a bunch back in by just opening a gate. Most of them gathered in just two houses, one on the eastern side of town that I was barely able to move in, and the open-sided one on the north side of town.

Since the update...


Many times now im going thru my portal bridge and take damge and die with the massage that i "Fell off the world".

Of course i loose everything since u cant retrive things off the world.

Only safe way to use portals is to go into creative mode and hover until I fully materialize on the other end, then revert to game mode... Which is lame as hell on many levels.

These bugs weren't in the snapshot just before 1.3, but someone made a lot of changes in a short amount of time, because they had taken a week off and hat itchy... fingers (typing fingers is pretty much all of them).

It's pretty bad. I do spawn in the ground every time I log on, though it fixes itself, and it seems water pushing you against a wall will hurt you, too.

If you're able to grab the snapshots off http://www.mojang.com/ when they post them, that might offer fixes. But if so, look at fixes first. Surprised they haven't done 1.3.2.

As a QA engineer, I used to get into shouting matches trying to explain to developers that one bug we know about is infinitely better than taking a last second fix and introducing n more.

I think the last thing they added was the sideways-placing logs.

The "fix" in 1.3.1 is supposedly to have another player logged in within range of each end of any portal.

They didn't do a snapshot though, so people won't get to play with the new frames, flowerpots, and walls yet. Guess they want to incorporate the fixes.
