DU Update: Zero Team 2000

I bought what I thought was New Zero Team to redump the bad rom. To my surprise it ended up being Zero Team 2000, which appears to be a rare final update of the game(?). I think the 333ROM chip should be shared between the 2 games (hope) so maybe it will fix that set as well. We will see.
The pcb is the V33 Type C Ver 2, the latest version I've ever heard of. Uberleet. That means it can be emulated immediately. Just kidding. Calm down.
It has a 3rd button you can hold down to do rapid attack so you don't have to tire yourself out button mashing, which is nice. The game plays really well, one of the best beat em ups ever I think? I can't get it to sync properly in my supergun so, looking forward to the emulation, but I was able to get some so-so shots. I'm waiting on a couple of parts to arrive before it can be fully dumped.

Seibu have good games, but nice catch! You found the 2000 version. This game as been here too, and i don´t remember it was 2000. Anyways dump or no dump do you have it. That's more important.

I'm not super clear on exactly what happened, but wikipedia is saying their arcade division closed down in 1999 when the company flirted with bankruptcy. Given the company's health, it would be surprising if they released an update to a 7 year old game in 2000.
So maybe this is a bootleg hack? Still a cool find either way though.

Unclear/possible. Also possible it was made in 1999 I guess or Wikipedia is wrong. I don't know. Haze says there is also a Raiden II/DX 2000.

Yeah, games with a year are usually released -the year before-. Just look at Madden...
This might've been one of their final games before shutting down for good. Awesome find, man.

It's r2dx_v33 hardware, the final revision of it, but the protection afaik is the same as regular Raiden II hardware. I'm ready to run trojans whenever someone writes them.

And if I remember correctly, many of Seibu's former employees are now at Moss, which is who developed Raiden III and IV.

Hello Smittdog, is it the board i pointed some days ago from Sheep Nova on Ebay ?
If yes then it's cool, this means that the board i got this saturday is also a Zero Team 2000 and the same as yours

Yours could end up being the "New" version. I know the seller. If you contact him off ebay you can get stuff cheaper since he can avoid fees. But anyway, he's a nice guy but no attention to details at all. He often misses small details and has even sent me board pics of something I was supposedly getting and clearly what I got was different (different sticker damage etc.). If your rom stickers match this then it should be the same but you won't know that until it arrives anyway because he will have 1 board in the ebay pics and several copies for sale... It's probably a rom swap to upgrade it though, from a New ZT.

Mine is a later version of the pcb, you can see from the etching on the bottom. Does yours have a rapid fire on button C?

Yes , mine is a New Zero Team and not a Zero Team 2000 . The rapid fire on the C button is the only difference or there are others ?

As for the rom data I would have to dump yours to know, but the title screen graphics would be different. I don't know differences in gameplay, never owned or played a different version than the one I have and I can't even play it yet because of the shitty refresh. I need more hardware pieces.

^^ yeah shooting your ennemies with a bazooka in-your-face is pretty funny.
it's so unfair to shoot someone which is weapon-less but that's part of the fun

I've never attached a pic with a phone so I don't know. Sounds like the function isn't supported in your phone's browser. My only suggestion is email it to yourself to a web based email and attach it next time you are on a PC.

If you're sure it's different from the sets we have dumped (I haven't checked) then you can send me a private message after you get the board and I'll send you my address. But dumping doesn't have anything to do with them not working in mame. The protection has to be worked out by mamedevs. There is nothing you can do to speed that up aside from working it out yourself.

Why Will not play it on mame or in the future the game may be available (woking list) ? Because i and people who know it want to play.

It has protection nobody has been able to crack yet and will probably require someone writing trojan code to run as a replacement to a rom on the board and video recordings of the output in order to work it out. It will happen at some point but it could be days or it could be years.
