Yes, in 2012, new games still arrive on neogeo and dreamcast platforms...
Gunlord is a platform game with a megadrive looking... The dreamcast version can already be found here and there (no link in comments, thanks...), no idea about the neogeo version which should be soon in a mame derivative build I suppose...
Perhaps because it's not a warez version that simple...
Done and developped by the same team... on both support... and if released in 2012 is not new to you... well, dunno what to say... oh yes perhaps : "failed"...
aaaah Trolls... You're not supposed to be one usually Smitt...
From the test introduction, translated quickly from french to english : "With many months late, Gunlord, the independant game from the NG:DEV.TEAM, is finally available on Dreamcast and Neogeo."
Yeah I'm a troll, I like trolling my own site. People were talking about buying the game in December and my friend has owned the cart for months. It is not new. You posted about the DC version "here and there" with "no links, thanks". If that doesn't sound like posting warez while not crossing forum rules I don't know what does. As far as calling me a troll you can go fuck yourself.
I didn't knew it was available since december, just found the test on a french site, stating it is new and finally available, find that funny that DC and NG games were still developped, that was the point... nothing else.
And thanks for your nice proposition but no, go fuck myself is not something I planned lately...
Keep cool, breath, smile... I've not attacked you nor wanted to do such... humor... adults here, on that site since a loooong time, and having the same passion...
> wow, nice game! > but why Gunlord ? it looks 100% like Turrican
^+1 ...also sounds similar to Turrican - this is shameless rip off of Amigas Turrican... ...nevertheless it's good one !
P.S. I've tried in Demul 0.5.7 but emulator does not recognize iso of the game. (cue + img) Is this format supported in Demul or should be Gunlord.cdi ? (or whatever extension)
Well, maybe this game is old for some people who actually have the time to be updated about new games for old plataforms, but for others like me Its completely new. Thanks for sharing the info, the game looks good. Nice to see people programming for Neo Geo MVS yet.
Well I check the news board on neogeo.com 3-4 times a year. Despite its age, MVS is still more interesting than a PC that accepts credits. What's more interesting is this company's previous game (a bullet hell) and that they are working on a new 2D arcade board that can handle new school bullet hells and will license it out to other small companies. But enjoy Turrican and stuff.
Of course, this is not a place for 16 bit wars, but Turrican is 1 floppy game and works on machine with halve MB Ram ! Amiga plays NO MP3, only 4 channel music (there was software tricks/hacks for 8 channel music i.e. Octamed, but 99.99% of the games have 4 c. music or 3 c. music + 1 c. sfx)... ...besides everything Turrican (I,II,III) looks & sounds great even for todays standards ! Turrican is a LEGEND !

Aye. Chris Huelsbeck's awesome soundtrack was what really made Turrican... well, Turrican
You're right, that clone misses parallax scrolling and those wonderful copper lists. Other than that, besides usage of streaming music, more animation frames and more colors, the evidence is obvious:
The level design (platforms, design etc.), the enemies (heli-hovers), weapons (blaster, plasma/grapple hook), attacks (roll-attack) almost everything is very very very similar. No other commercial clone as of today has achieved such level of plagiaritism.
EDIT: they even cloned the sequence of worlds as it seems. First world using outside/rock/ruins/cave parts? check. Waterfall-/ruins-based level? Check. Factory with flames and acid pools? Check. Alien-/Skull & Bones-based World? Check.
Btw; the intro included in their trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b1h41hVg_8 implements a certain textual/narrative style, it could even easily make certain members on this board a bit pale in comparison, with all its, err, raised level of simplicity in terms of expression. This was not foreseeable.
