Gif abuse, Jesus Christ. I can't even read it because the page is so busy. Not that I feel I'm missing anything. Between reading books of shit and spending what would have to be weeks finding fitting gifs, somebody needs a life.

OK, awful book, but awful review, too. Does she really find it inconceivable that a 21-year-old woman might be a virgin, or might refer to "down there" as "down there?" People tend to use phrases repeatedly, especially when learning who they are. She complains that "oh my" appears in the book 79 times. In... 528 pages. Once every 6 or 7 pages, and given what the book is about, probably in clusters. The character is not the reviewer. Too damn bad, Kate. Maybe you're the one with the problem.

And don't forget the reviewer has apparently replied to every message in the thread. Even more, the replies are bigger than the replied messages. Many people should envy than amount of free time nor lack of sleep.

so how does a crap book sell millions? there's tons of trashy books out there for "mommy porn." what makes this so special? did kim kardashian or snookie plug it? that would do it, i bet.

Because of its origins. It was originally a fan-fiction Twilight writing posted on a Twilight fan message board - much shorter (obviously)...When it became too "raunchy" the author removed it, re-worked it, and re-released it.
That's why in the review above you'll see references to "Twilight" or "Edward" crossed out. The woman was originally Bella, and the rapist...I mean dude, Edward.
Many of the "Twilight" fans are sold on it as a result.

Sometimes things just go viral, there's no real rhyme or reason to it. It just happens to catch the attention of the right people at the right time, gets shared and re-shared over and over until it hits critical mass. It takes more talent and work than hitting the lottery, but it's really not so different.
The same thing happened with Angry Birds. It's just an artillery game. It's clever and cute but not really that different from a million other games in the genre. And yet I saw a woman buying Angry Birds fruit snacks for her kid the other day.
I wish I knew the formula, that's for sure...

ah, this makes some sense. it got its jumpstart with the twilight crowd.

and yeah, angry birds. wtf. it's nothing special. maybe some chick on The View played it or mentioned it. women are a big force in making something take off, they like to gossip and see what others are talking about.
