10 years of internal Atari e-mails

I've only glanced at them quickly. A lot of it seems pretty dry and mundane, but maybe there is info in there that would be useful for emulation, if someone has the time and patience to tease it out?

They've been looked at quite a bit by many people over the years. Some good information has been produced and exists in MAME source code directly from examination of those mails.

Was kinda interesting reading this, especially all the evolutions that the 3D hardware (Race Drivin' etc) went through before it hit full retail.
Interesting to read about some of the tricks they used to make the hardware work in a way that saved costs.

Was Race Drivin' the first real 3D hardware to reach retail release or did someone else come out with 3D hardware before Atari?

I, Robot (1983) was the first real 3D hardware. Also from Atari.

And some (not all) of the Atari vector games were doing true 3D math, notably Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. So those could be considered as well.
