Is it possible to compile a 64-bit MAME executable on a 32-bit Windows machine?
I assume the answer is yes, but I wanted to be sure before I bothered downloading the 64-bit tools.

AFAIK the 64-bit MinGW tools are themselves 64-bit so no, that won't work. The reverse of course does (building 32-bit on a 64-bit OS).

Well you could build the 64-bit MinGW tools from source using the 32-bit binaries. You never know, It might work. It's easier to get a 64-bit OS. Especially as all you'll end up with is a binary you can't even use.
