windows "touch" utility
#290981 - 07/05/12 07:29 AM

Is there a windows utility to change the create/modify date and time on files?

I'd like to be able touch all files in a directory at the same time and set a specific time on them simultaneously.

Preferably, I'd like a simple GUI tool rather than a command line, but I can work with a command line tool if that's all that's available.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found this one that's pretty damn nice...

Yeah, I was about to recommend that one, I've used it many times.

I use Touch for Windows just in case anyone is interested in a command line tool that mimics the unix command. Much faster and more efficient than adding files in a GUI window IMO.

If'n ya wanna go oldskool, Norton Utilities 4.5 Advanced Edition had the FD (FileDate) utility. Back when Norton meant somethin' in regards to power utilities and learning about system internals.

Now its Winders this and KDE thet...if I can get a decent DOS extended compile of the latest MAME werkin' I'd be all set for a very stripped down gamin' setup runnin' FreeDOS!

Dang nabbit! Ah caint shake this accent. ;-)
