It could be legit, didn't HP dump these things en masse for cheap when they killed their whole tablet line? Personally, I wouldn't even want one for free. The products that HP actively promotes and supports are bad enough.

Sure is cheap enough, but I think it might take a while to do useful stuff .......

Let me know how you get on. It could be worth a gamble if more come up again. Especially with free international shipping. Definitely seems way too good to be true though.

---------------------------------------- Item name: HP TouchPad 16GB, Wi-Fi, 9.7in - Black Item Number: 140789811535 Price: $44.99 Shipping Price: Free Qty: 1 Item Total: $44.99 Payment expected to clear on Jul-03-12 Shipped on Jul-03-12 Standard Int'l Shipping Estimated delivery: Varies* You can contact seller for more information. ----------------------------------------
It seems unlikely to me that he would've shipped it out so soon after the auction ended considering how many buyers were before me. Does anyone know how much time it generally takes to ship something from Canada to the southeast US? Would 10-14 days be a good estimate?

Oh, "TouchPad," not "touch pad." Well then I won't recommend Logitech.

You oughta know not to stand by the window. Somebody see you up there.
I got some groceries, some peanut butter, to last a couple of days.
But I ain't got no speakers, ain't got no headphones, ain't got no records to play.

Yes, that sounds fair. I'd expect an order from the US or UK to Australia in similar time-frame. So, you should have the machine by 19-July or shortly after. Don't forget that if it hasn't arrived within 6 weeks, start the resolution process. Start it a few days before the 6 weeks expires to be on the safe side (add a reminder to your calendar).

Yeah, I got a message like that. The message said to wait until the expected arrival date (even though I'm sure I won't get it) so I'll probably wait until July 16 to open a complaint to get a refund.

How did you go ? Did it arrive ? (Based on the above news, I'm guessing it was a scam ....) Hope you got your money back.

I opened a case with eBay Buyer Protection when it didn't show up in the mail and it took eBay less than a week to give me a refund. I thought the money would go into my Paypal account, but they credited it directly to my credit card, which was better.
All things considered, I have to give eBay Customer Service a lot of credit, even though it was pretty obvious that a full refund was the correct outcome.
