Are people still using Turaco for this? Surely not.

Do you have something better? I haven't made a hack since 2001 but I've never seen a program for it other than Turaco.

Yeah, I haven't done anything either. I can't believe no one's made anything in all these years.
I'd rather knock something together to do what I need than try to use Turaco again. I remember it used to drive me crazy, now that I would have to setup dosbox and get it running I don't think I can do it.

I'd love to see one that could handle CPS2.

I take it turaco doesn't? Is there something unusual about cps2? I don't have my mame source code here.

I haven't used Turaco in I think 11 years but from what I remember, it only handled a few really old non-Jamma games. Pac-Man, Kicker and a few others from that era. I did a hack of Kicker called Kung-Fu Johnny that remains to this day to be the best hack ever made. I would do something even better on CPS2 if the tools existed.

Wow, I kind of remember that. I think the last thing I did was the Simpsons with CuteButWrong. That one may have been almost as good as your hack.
That just reminded me of Kazzy and his hacks. Seems like I did something with Pi on a game too I can't remember now, it seems so long ago.
I'll see what I can do about CPS2.

I forgot about the Simpsons Tapper one, that one was top notch. I want to make Mameworld Vs. Capcom.

Getting pacman going was easy enough, but I don't think my brain has enough bits for me to figure out how to do cps2.

But you must. CPS1? List of other possibilities that are Jamma boards?

I think turaco does cps1, at least they have a driver for it.

I'm sure it wasn't really usable or else there would have been hacks. There needs to be one where you can work in the actual colors and not with pieces of the characters scattered all over the place.

You're probably going to need something custom to pull all the sprites together correctly.
I was looking at my pacman driver compared to the turaco driver and they look about the same just different names and the x axis is reversed. So I changed mine to load the turaco driver and most of the other games started working, at least the simple ones that I've tried. I haven't tried cps1 yet.
