MAME command line for DirectDraw?

Hello all,
What is the command line to run MAME in DirectDraw (instead of Direct3D, since I am using a real arcade monitor and Soft 15Khz).

And how can I make this change permanent? In the mame.ini?

You can put "video ddraw" in your mame.ini to make it permanent.

Incidentally, have you tried GroovyMAME? It's designed for arcade monitors and I believe it defaults to Direct Draw....
