Whenever I see Yaphet's name I also think of MAKO, the very talented japanese actor who did a lot of 'token' roles in the 70s and 80s. He was active in films up until his death a few years ago.
Mako was the first Asian American ever nominated for an Academy Award. His full name was Mako Iwamatsu.
