Out of curiosity, why is Royal Ascot 2 (a gambling game) not added to MAME? The dump has been in Final Burn for many years.

I presume it was just overlooked. I remember noticing it a couple years back when I was looking for more titles to add to R. Belmont's M1 .. it was passed on for MAME at the time since it was before the whole mechanical/pinball games additions hit. No doubt at this time it falls under a "mame worthy" title.

I thought I had heard it was incomplete, or corrupt, or they didn't know which Royal Ascot game it actually was. Is that not true? Can you get to the title screen in FBA?
[EDIT] This is starting to come back to me. Isn't it ... like it has a central system with a screen, then each gambler has their own console? It's probably multi-PCB, and there's only a dump of one..

Looking over the changes for .147 I noticed that this game was not actually added, even though from the .146u4 changelog, it seems to have. Was this overlooked? Only the first game (Royal Ascot) was actually added.

Mistakes happen.
It was added to MAME as Royal Ascot 2. But, as work was done to get something to work, it was discovered it was simply the original "Royal Ascot" and the original entry from the changelog which made the whatsnew was not corrected.

In case this is still unclear: since there have been no new dumps of this game, that means the game in Final Burn should also be renamed "Royal Ascot", from "Royal Ascot 2".
Royal Ascot 2 still needs to be found and dumped.

Thanks, though I do think Taf was pretty clear the first time. My comment was in the hopes that the real RA2 ROMs eventually get found and added to MAME for completion's sake.
