Magical Speed by Allumer Dumped
#287158 - 05/21/12 05:47 AM

I have dumped my Magical Speed PCB (succesfully I hope). The game is a variation of the card game.. Speed.

Short video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xyl6tkVeGz0

The pcb is almost identical to Mad Shark, and I believe Seta.C should be the appropriate driver to run this game.

I'd like to submit it. I sent an email off to MAMEdev, although I'm not sure if this is the appropriate route.

If an Admin would like to send me a PM privately regarding the proper channels to take, I would appreciate it.

As with the rules I will not be posting a link to the rom publicly.

Should be fine. You might want to include a high res pic of the board though. You can attach one here if you want or mail it. Thanks for the dump.

Here's the PCB

Actually got lucky as it was accompanied by cabinet manual.

My understanding of the Dips..

Input wise, game is JAMMA standard. However instead of what would be joystick directionals for normal games. Those inputs are used for buttons 1 - 4, which on the cabinet select card in your hand. A + B which correspond to the card deposit stacks, are normal gameplay buttons.

Well, if anyone feels like trying to get this to run. The rom is out there if you do a little search.

Also should mention this game came in a vs cocktail setup, so for those with cocktail rigs this might be the perfect addition.

Thanks for your contribution, and all the details you provided (PCB, manual, video, ...). As game submission posts, yours is as good as it gets

Here are some MAME shots:

I have one last little request: can you list the Seta/Allumer X-something custom chips, some are not clearly visible in the pic.

Thanks.

Sure.

For the surface mounts, they are:
U7 + U6 - X1-011, 9333EX003
U4 + U5 - X1-012, 9329DP075
U8 - X1-010, 332100

The 2 large chips above the EPROMs

U3 - X1-002A, 9330KX201
U2 - X1-001A, 9335KX200

To the left of dipswitches:

U9 - X1-004, 332100
U10 - X1-007, 336100

Those are the only ones I see with the Allumer logo on them. The auxilliary CN1, CN2 connectors are used to drive lights underneath the buttons that show what cards are available to play, and what stacks.

CN3 was used to communicate with an auxilliary PCB which would have driven a light display above the cabinet. Unfortunately this piece was removed and I do not have the secondary board.
