Demul 0.5.7

I have a question about Samurai Shodown VI / Samurai Spirits T.K.
I use rom from MAME set(samsptk) in Demul 0.5.7 and have graphics glitches.(some sprites and/or objects in the background) Besides that, game works just fine and fluidly.
Can someone tell me is this normal for this game in Demul, because all other games in Atomiswave folder works fully without any glitches ?!
Thanks in advance !
P.S. I can recommend Demul to everyone out there who wanna play Naomi/Naomi2/Atomiswave arcade games - almost every game I tried worked like a charm !

I get the same results when running that game. Perhaps people from the Demul team or others can explain why that is.

I found the answer thanks to JacKc

You have to switch the video plugin and not use gpuDX11.
The other plugins work fine for that game.

Yes, that's true... ...but when I choose another video plugin (gpuDXLegacy or gpuDXv3 doesn't matter which one) performances drops down for about 30-35% i.e. gpu from 60 to 40 and spg from 60 to 35-40 which makes game unplayable/unpleasant
Anyway, Thank You for Your efforts.
Maybe @CaH4e3 or @MetalliC will spot this thread ?!

Correct behavior is slower to emulate. (And a really correct emulation of the DC/Naomi GPU has yet to be written, although Deunan's on the right track with DX11).

I could easily understand that at this state of emulation the speed is not always at 100%... ...but judging by this logic, adequate to this situation with Samurai Shodown VI, shouldn't be all/most of the Atomiswave games in Demul " "crippled" ?
Simply by load & run ALL these games I was surprised to see that ONLY this particular game has gfx glitces ?!
Is S.S.VI and only S.S.VI use some special instructions in Atomiswave driver which are not implemented yet in Demul or something is overlooked here ?

Another is Virtua Tennis 2.On DX11 it crashes for me.Can one of you guys try loading that game under DX11 and let me know if it crashes for you as well?

First of all, just to clear out for anyone out there,(for those of you who don't know) Virtua Tennis 2 is NOT a Atomiswave game.
Now, please be more precise about which V.T.2 You talk :
- V.T.2 cartridge
- V.T.2 naomigd
- V.T.2 for DreamCast (CD ROM)
For Your information I played V.T.2 cartridge in Demul 0.5.7 (DX11) and everything is OK (I've just beat Enqvist ) :

EDIt: I just noticed something,are you using the DX11 update or the DX11 that comes with the emu? I have a extra option





I have tried on both my cab (corei3 2100@ 3.1 w\GTX460)
and my desktop (core i5 2500k @ 4.4 w\2 GTX460 SLI) both get the same results

I am using DX11 that comes with the emu.
Obviously Your problem is with "updated DX11" or the way You installed it ! (read about that on Demul page)
Also, if other Naomi games work for You, maybe You should try another ROM for V.T.2.

LOL,yup that was it.Strange it only affected that one game,I guess with updates some other things break,what are ya gonna do? Anyhow thanks for testing for me.

PSO v1/v2 never supported the BBA officially. It was possible to get it to work, but it was never a supported option-- only the 56k modem was supported.

As for the servers, the Sega servers have been dead for just a bit under ten years.

That's the "irony" so many gamers "love" Naomi / Atomiswave games but never supported the Dreamcast. Its too bad the PS2 and piracy killed it.

I really think its a great system, and between Charline and myself, we have 3 of them.

Someone has to emulate the servers, which given there are no working ones to compare to for nearly 10 years now, is a supremely hard job. If that happened, it'd be relatively trivial for Demul/Makaron/NullDC/MESS to hook up client-side comms.

Odd.Since using the DX11 plugin that comes with Demul loads that game fine.It is only when using the DX11 update I get that message.After reverting back to the original plugin the problem was fixed,on both my cab and desktop

A bit of thread necromancy here but, I remember with the older Demul versions, most 2D games showed graphical glitches with multi-threading enabled. Disabling the feature fixed those games and you could hardly see the difference in performance, although it did slow down the 2D games.
I have not played around with 0.57 but if that option is still user-controlled, perhaps the graphical issues of the OP could be helped without sacrificing performance.
