Arcan is a fully scriptable and portable frontend for many emulators, with some specific MAME support included for good measure. It is, primarily, intended for the advanced hobbyist that wants to play around programming their own FE together without having a background in 2D/3D computer graphics. The default setup however, require very little configuration effort to get running.

There are two possible explanations for that name. On is that I wasn't in a very creative mood naming-wise, the icons are laid out in a Grid, but simply calling it 'Grid' was just a little bit too boring. The other possible explanation is that I have some latent homoerotic tendencies towards #retrogamers profiles. My bet is on the first explanation ;p

Thanks ^_^, I was aiming for amazing however, but I'll try better next time. Currently getting rid of all the boring tasks (updating and uploading API documentation, 3D models and guidelines etc). Then I'll get to work on 'amazing' ;-)

I'll admit I'm impressed. I'm planning to watch your project in the long term, might just try playing with it sometime soon too.
This might just be the cab UI I've been looking for all this time; all the others usually have one or more annoyances that just drive me insane.
(And yes, I saw 'gridle' and smirked.)

hmm i'm also curious about those problems too
I use mamewah and it's very stable on my cab, even with snaps, avis, daphne, cabmame64, snes and music.
