New PC for MAME + ARCADEVGA + NAMCO Cyberlead Cab
#283195 - 04/19/12 12:58 PM

Hi

Just looking around the internet for a pc to put into my cab and saw this which looks cheap:

http://www.ebuyer.com/344622-zoostorm-pentium-no-os-desktop-pc-7873-1057

Any opinions on if this would be a suitable PC for hooking up a ArcadeVGA card and using it on my Cyberlead cabinet to play mostly MAME but looking to the future to play maybe other more taxing Emulators?

Thanks for looking

As always, it depends what your ambitions are as far as games to play. That system will work fine for classics and CPS-2 and NeoGeo in MAME. It'll be borderline for early 3D games (Tekken, Tekken 2, Soul Calibur, that stuff), and you won't be wanting to play NFL Blitz or CarnEvil on it. For non-MAME, it'll run the less taxing games OK in Supermodel (so Scud Race is OK, Star Wars Trilogy not), and it should generally be OK for Makaron/Demul and the Model 2 Emulator.

Also, please check the ROM labels on your Cyberlead to make sure it's not a version we don't have in MAME

Mr. Belmont is basically saying if you happen to have a unique board that hasn't been dumped and added to MAME yet an addition would be welcome.

Some hi-res closeup pics of the board would even help others identify what you have.

for added speed remember to use a 64bit operating system, and a 64bit version of mame.

Nope, that's Cyber Commando.

You want "Rhinoceros Berth Lead-Lead."
