It showed up ...and is playable in Demul !

P.S. I do not know why IC 1 shows ---- instead of GOOD in RESULT section ?! (last screenshot)

R. Belmont added it to MAME yesterday. Read the driver for info on the IC1 problem-

Screenshot is from Demul WIP, not from MAME. I suppose, those are 2 different drivers/programs.

that does not mean that the cause of the '-----' in IC1 can't be the same...
EDIT: I stand corrected by Arbee's reply above. ignore the post

---- is correct and shown by hardware (it indicates that the flash chip #0 is not populated, just 1-3). Demul and Makaron do not have the 8 MB offset problem MAME does; I have yet to hear an explanation in clear enough English from either emulator's authors to understand how to implement it ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif)
And for the record, this took over 2 months to figure out how to properly dump it because of the weirdness of the Namco cartridge PCBs. Deunan Knute finally figured it out, so big kudos to him!

that's not correct actually... if you look closely to the every other regular naomi cart, you can see, ---- appears only for ic22 or ic1 which is the main executables, they are contain list of the checksums for all chips, including it's sizes, but it can't contain checksum for himself, since then the whole chacksum will change too so that chip with the checksum list can't be tested against it, and it can't get "good" or "bad" label, just ---- as undefined behaviour... So it's normal.
your 8mb problem can be solved if you relocate just the first half of the main executable from 800000 to 400000 address ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
(Ive tried to put as much "the" as possible to be more clearly, but still have no idea how use it, sorry ;P)

I have a screenshot of the ROM test on hardware. I can assure you that ---- is correct in this instance ![](//www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

That's not correct. One of the address bits controls if part (Sega carts) or all (Namco carts) of the contents appears 8 MB earlier than their true address. That's the part I don't understand; DEMUL clearly emulates it correctly since you get the -----.

i mean, your words about "ic 0" is not populated... that's not true... ---- shows the same on any ic22 on the regular carts... it's just shows you that there is no checksum for this chip inside list.

correct it or not for the real hardware I don't know, but that is makes romboard test show correct results and booting... Even 000000-3fffff area may be empty at all...
MAME:
Code:
ROM_LOAD("nja3vera_fl1.2d", 0x00800000, 0x00800000, CRC(442cb858) ) ROM_RELOAD( 0x00000000, 0x00800000) ROM_LOAD("nja3vera_fl2.2c", 0x01000000, 0x00800000, CRC(1f81f46b) ) ROM_LOAD("nja3vera_fl3.2b", 0x01800000, 0x00800000, CRC(24974c3d) )
Result:
![](http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/5905/95564270.th.png) Demul:
Code:
ROM_LOAD("nja3vera_fl1.2d", 0x00800000, 0x00800000, CRC(442cb858) ) ROM_RELOAD( 0x00400000, 0x00400000) ROM_LOAD("nja3vera_fl2.2c", 0x01000000, 0x00800000, CRC(1f81f46b) ) ROM_LOAD("nja3vera_fl3.2b", 0x01800000, 0x00800000, CRC(24974c3d) )

Great news I've been patiently waiting for this since Guru got it. Its great to see the devs from mame makaron and demul helping each other for " The Greater Good" (Hot Fuzz)
