Mame Refusing to run. Every version everygame

No matter what version of mame i use be it rele old copys new ones GUi and none GUI versions 32/64
The moment i press play game
Black screan then crash
"Has stopped working"
Nothing i do changes this in any way and endless google searching gets me nowere
PLEASE HELP ME I NEED THE OLDSKOOL JOY IN MY LIFE!!!

Download and run dxwebsetup.exe
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35
run official MAME from mamedev.org
then extract it to a brand new root path.
execute mame or mame64 -cc in command prompt to create a fresh mame.ini
What's your GFX card and what driver you have installed?

The commonalities of all those links are
-user running mameUI and not official MAME
- XP 32 bit O/S (YUCK)
- GFX card several several several years old.
Geez people a friggin 9800 GTX can be had on the cheap and if you look to the right places you can score GTX 460 for about 100 bucks give or take some.

I just bought my second GTX 460 for $135 on ebay.Not because the first broke either.

Depends what games. I don't play CPS (of any flavour), and the only completely 3D game I might play is Xevious 3D-G. Now for the rest o ya all, it's sink or swim.
