Thanks for the link! How are the chances for OutRun Enhanced Edition’s programmed EPROMs to end up in MAME someday as a clone of the parent rom outrun? I’m guessing pretty low but I’m still hopeful and it has indeed been very interesting to follow that project. Impressive!

I doubt any official add is made, but there's nothing stopping from it being added in a private (personal) build.

I just read through the entire blog. Not only is it fascinating, but he does point out little glitches in MAME along the way over the years he worked on the project. Devs, take note. (They're probably all fixed now...)
