Vertical Games (Filling in the black areas)
#275873 - 02/12/12 10:45 PM

Hi all,

On my 27" arcade monitor, when playing the vertical games, there are black areas on either side of the game. Normal behavior I understand. Is there any way to fill in the sides with a bezel and yet retain the original size of the vertical game? If this were possible, the top and bottom of the bezel would need to be cut off. Bezels are cool, but the way that it shrinks the game screen size down is why I don't use them.

I guess what I'm asking...

If I want to retain the same size of the gameplay screen on a vertical game, do I need to live with the blackness on the sides, or is there some kind of filler?

If so, what settings would need to be tweaked in MAME to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Jason
