I would love to be able to see what happened geologically. If you imagine all those earthquakes as say snow falling off a mountain side...you can kind-of get the idea as to what happened in terms of plates shifting. just astounding to think about how much energy was involved...

I was expecting a stupid scare video, too.

(Spoiler?) At about 1:51 in the video, March 11-12 in the on-screen date, seismic activity just east of Japan basically goes apeshit. I didn't exactly fall out of my chair, but the suddenness of it is pretty shocking.

umm there are reports about that everywhere, just google march 11 japan quake. The whole country moved like 9 inches closer to the US and the earth tilted on its axes by a small percentage. In the grand scheme of things... it was pretty much OMFG huge.

I guess by "what happened geologically", I meant in more detail underground. I'd love to be able to visualize exactly what physical masses shifted, how large they were, where they shifted to, what cascading effects it had, etc. We can see the results of those actions via the pretty circles, but I'd like to have the ability to see actual earth being moved around.

...
I wonder if this was a secret conspiracy but the Japanese to take over the US. Maybe if they move their country closer a few inches at a time, they'll be able to attack when we least expect it?
