Mahjong Dream Club
#273864 - 01/23/12 11:23 PM

"Bishoujo" (pretty girl) games are a genre treated in western media like a thing for perverts and otakus. While that in part is true as it's often mixed with "eroge", they're actually very entertaining if you love to read and, of course, know Japanese.

"Hentai" games are not my thing, however I like "Ecchi". People often define "Ecchi" as "cock tease", not far from reality. But apart from that distinction between "bishoujo" game types, they're really curious about how interactions between an stereotyped anime girl and the player work. More than the usual "cock tease", the interaction itself gets to the point it turns quite hilarious and fun. One of my recent favorite games ("Dream C Club" which I'm playing now on PSP) is getting the Mahjong treatment.

I do have to wonder why from the many scenes the video has, it had to show precisely that one.

Yep, because they're girls. Pretty adult cock-teases would be perfectly acceptable. Blushing 13 year olds in their undies is a bit fucked up though.

Their tits are way too big for them to be 13-year-olds.

Yeah, I forgot about that too. People find fucked up watching cartoons with resemblance to humans being barely undressed, but it's really OK to kill cartoons and real human avatars with virtual guns. "Moe" style =/= child. Talking about closed minds and double standards.

And yes, you might argue whatever you like about why is more correct one from the other, both are the same and equally considered since ancient civilizations.

Yeah, okay. Sure.

Quote:

Moe (萌え?, pronounced [moe]) is a Japanese slang word. It means "a rarefied pseudo-love for certain fictional characters (in anime, manga, and the like) and their related embodiments."[1] Patrick W. Galbraith[2] notes that it is a pun derived from a Japanese word that literally means "budding," as with a plant that is about to flower, and thus it can also be used to mean "budding" as with a preadolescent girl.

If you're quoting Wikipedia, you may as well cite the rest of the article were it explains "moe" doesn't mean "molesting developing human beings" for example:

Quote:

Patrick W. Galbraith[2] notes that it is a pun derived from a Japanese word that literally means "budding," as with a plant that is about to flower, and thus it can also be used to mean "budding" as with a preadolescent girl.[3] Since the word is also a homonym for "burning" pronounced moe (燃え?), there is also speculation that the word stems from the burning passion felt for the characters.[4] The word has come to be used to mean one particular kind of "adorable", one specific type of "cute", mainly as applied to fictional characters.

But of course, that would not go along with your train of though. It's okay anyway, that's the reason these titles don't reach overseas. Contrary to popular belief, "moe" doesn't mean "everything you should fap at".

In the same way video games don't build serial killers, they also don't make sexual harassers. It's all about playing whatever it makes you comfortable and have fun in the end.

If I'm not mistaken, the closest thing it reaches "moe" in the western is the newest version of "My Little Pony". And as the well as anything "moe" related, it doesn't appeal everyone. I didn't know many people had such a burning passion for molesting little horses.

If you think you'll ever, ever get me to change my mind on people using children (excuse me, child-looking Moe) as a source of sexual gratification as sick and punishable by death (there, that one's a freebie for ya') you couldn't possibly be more wrong. Some things just _DO_ _NOT_ _FLY_.

Well, if you think you'll ever get me to change my mind on people using a drawing style for the unique purpose of sexual gratification you couldn't possibly be more wrong. That's really sick coming from "sane" people: watching things everyone ought to see as them when others don't. It's the same as raising the racism card only because a situation doesn't fit their thoughts. "There's not black people here, that's racist". "A drawing depicting a woman looking like (I think is) a child, it should be for those weirdos masturbating with child porn".

However I should admit that raises a though: maybe I'm not seeing things as targeted people for this does? Well, as long as it's not me who cares? It's a matter of personal choice and morals, fucked or not. I won't limit my varied gaming style by a prejudice.
