I hope you'll indulge me in a little shameless self promotion...
I've just started a blog called Portmania! It's not, in fact, a shrine to Natalie Portman, but rather a classic gaming themed blog where I'll be reviewing home console ports of arcade games and comparing them in (sometimes excruciating) detail to the originals. I'm not much of a blogger, but it's actually been pretty fun to research and write so far, hopefully it's at least somewhat interesting to read. It'll be updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for at least a couple of weeks, maybe longer if I can keep up with it.
Anyhow, please check it out, I'd love to hear what you think.

I like it, I like your writing style and the layout is nice and clean.
How about comparing ports of the same game for various computers/consoles and point out the best one?
Of course comparing The Sega Saturn port of Space Harrier to the ZX Spectrum port wouldn't really be fair, I guess there would have to be some kind of rule..like only pitting 8-bit arcade games against 8-bit computers or consoles for example. Or only comparing 8-bit home ports of a 16-bit arcade game.
Idea for next game:
C64 Gyruss vs. arcade Gyruss (very few people know how good this port was) C64 Crazy Comets/Mega Apocalypse vs. arcade Mad Planets (I know who will "win" this one lol). ZX Spectrum Cavelon vs. arcade Cavelon (they are practically identical) ZX Spectrum Green Beret vs C64 Green Beret vs. arcade Green Beret :-)

I liked it once I got over the disappointment of it not being about Natalie Portman and all that. Looking forward to more games being reviewed.

Thanks! > How about comparing ports of the same game for various computers/consoles and point > out the best one?
That's kind of the plan, at least for now. I'll be running through the Donkey Kong ports (or as many as I can stand, there are *a lot*) one at a time. When I'm done, maybe I'll do a wrapup post and pick a winner.

Thanks! I've got a few ideas for games already, but it's always good to have more in the queue.
