Holy crap... Next time my extended family comes calling, I'm sending them to you.
I have one of those all-in-one repair kits, and out of that 90% of what I use is the Phillips screwdriver and that claw thing to fish screws out of the recesses of the case. More often than not when I make a housecall, I carry nothing more than my Leatherman and a copy of the Ultimate Boot CD.

Hell no! I cut out that crap years ago.
First I was open to doing computer service (free or pay) for pretty much anyone. Then I limited it to just acquaintances, friends, and family. Then it was friends and family. Then it was close friends and family. Then it was just extended family. Then it was just immediate family, and that's not looking so good these days.
Lack of time, lack of interest, desire to avoid frustration...

Yeah, me too. But I felt like documenting the extended repair kit because often enough I'm buying some nifty tool... that it turns out I don't need, because I won't likely need it or already have one. The typical guy thing. I figure, if I have written down somewhere what I have, then I can figure out what I really do need, and avoid temptation when I don't.
