Oh wow..me too.. it looks like a futuristic Power Drift. Any thoughts on what hardware it could be? Y-board or System 32?

There's apparently a video on NicoNicoDouga (where gregf got his screen captures?) but I don't have a login, someone want to mirror to Youtube?

Not likely seeing that it's a Taito game

I'd guess that it's similar hardware to Galactic Storm.

Lol...somebody has been using Cave 3 support to update his screen shots.

Hope he has done, what we have all done, deleted the Cave 3 Roms off our Hard Drive, and is no longer using an older version of Mame.

Duh. lol how did I completely miss that.

Meh I was getting all excited about a forgotten Sega Y-board game. The Taito sprite scalers aren't as good imho.

I put it up on archive.org which is better for preservation:
http://www.archive.org/details/taito-vertexer-footage

FYI it is pretty easy to get a Nico account these days even if you don't speak Japanese since they launched an international site: http://www.niconico.com/

TBH, while I have no cave 3 roms, I still have the cave 3 supported emu. It's not illegal to own and besides, I'm not distributing or using it. They can't host it but doens't mean we, the uses, have to remove our copies.

Well, IMO

Yeah, it's likely one of the hot-rodded Z-System configurations. Now if only a board would turn up

Looks quite interesting - another game I never saw in the wild.

Thanks for that.

The gameplay looks bland but those are some of the most impressive 2D scaling/rotation effects I've ever seen. Hopefully a boardset surfaces one day.

Thanks Justin! I wonder if the original submitter to NicoNicoDouga owns the PCB...
