What exactly is MAMEINFO and/or DAT files? Why do we need them? I use MAMEUI just by itself, am I missing something? Maybe you don't have the right side pane on where the flyers, screenshots, etc is shown? It would be displayed in that area. Sometimes you can see games not yet emulated in them, and use it as reference material when working on your emulation. Pretty rare for this anymore tho, but in the early days... Also, sometimes you can see games that are difficult to emulate perfectly, like old discrete circuitry games (thinking of "Killer Shark", "Computer Space" and "Wild Cycle" in JAWS...). That could REALLY come in handy as reference material, many of these games are incredibly rare and starting to die.
