Here's a weird arcade cabinet for ya...

Saw a weird arcade cabinet a few weeks ago - but it wasn't really an arcade game.
Stopped at a local haunted attraction with some friends prior to Halloween.
As I walked through the main gate, I saw what appeared to be a cluster of arcade games outside the haunted houses.
I got a closer look (naturally), and it turned out to be some sort of "Insert 25 cents to scare someone!" attraction.
Instead of a video game on the monitor (IIRC it was a CRT), they had a live video feed from inside the haunted house. Inserting a coin gave you control over a big red button that inside activated an actuator/solenoid setup that made something move inside one of the haunted houses and scare a guest. This was all stuffed inside an arcade cabinet.
So you could watch someone walk up inside the haunted house, and then press the button at the opportune time.
I took a cellphone picture but it's really crappy.
Emulate that!

Mountville, PA. "Field of Screams"
Again, it's not really an arcade game. It's an arcade cabinet-shaped housing for a closed-circuit TV and a big button.
They say on their website:
Quote:
Scare Booths The Scare Booths are two arcade style games that allow you to view and control a scare located nearby in the Entertainment Area. As patrons pass by the scare, you activate it and send your victim screaming away - all while you stand there and watch! Back again this year is the ever popular Explode Commode

It really is ingenious, in an evil sort of way.

That's great, sort of a do-it-yourself version of the "scare zones" at the big parks' Halloween setups where actors pop out (and up and down and anywhere they can fit them) to scare people.
