Rhode Island gets shafted again.
#267186 - 10/25/11 04:08 AM

"Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 49 United States and the District of Columbia (Rhode Island excluded), age 18 or older and Canada who are of the legal age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside, but in any event no less than 18 years of age or older, at the time of entry ("Entrant")."

Good, it improves my chances of winning by .000001%. My ship's coming in this time, I can feel it.

Correction: Rhode Island shafting its residents again. new [Re: Andrew]
#267189 - 10/25/11 05:08 AM

No one chooses to exclude a group like that. There are laws in place in the state that make it difficult, impossible, or unprofitable to include them.

Personally, with the tax laws in the US being what they are, I can't affort to win any non-cash prizes, and even those need to be huge amounts before they have any meaning at all.

Yeah, I guess it would be kind of a pisser to have to pay taxes on an $8,000 gaming rig I don't really need. C'mon second place!

But you have the best state police in the world, at least that's what Jim Carrey said.
