Anyone watching the World Series?
#266828 - 10/20/11 03:45 AM

I've already heard 2 "God Dammit"s and 1 "Shit". How does Fox get by broadcasting this? After one of the playoff games on TBS, I heard Brewer's player Morgan say "Fuck Yeah" three times. Don't get me wrong I cuss too, but this is being watched by families with young boys probably particularly interested. The cussing should be edited out!

Nah, not into it after suffering through the Red Sox debacle. At least Beltre was smart enough to jump ship.

I believe the FCC reversed their position on "fleeting expletives" not too long ago.

It was always understood that the networks weren't responsible if some random person says one of the seven words on live TV. Then a few years ago the Parents' Television Council flipped out about a drunken rock star dropping f-bombs during an award show, and (I think) NBC got whacked with ridiculous fines. Just recently, they flipped back and decided the networks are not responsible again.

Realistically, what can they do? People would go nuts if they dumped out of the broadcast every time someone said something. The only other option would be to not have mics anywhere near the field.

Let's face it, if a kid is old enough to understand what those words mean, chances are very good that they've heard them all before. Especially if dad is a Red Sox fan.

Well, if it's OK for a baseball player to say "fuck" 3 times then it is certainly OK to accidentally slip up and show a tit once in a while!

I get they cannot control everything, but I don't think the F-bomb should have made it all the way through especially since I doubt a baseball game is rated for language.
