That's cute, except that the modern Mac has the same internals as the modern PC (both work equally well), and both Windows 7 and OS X are derived from the 1984 Mac UI.

The problem is that they're all like "Apple is perfect and awesome and better than everything else" until it isn't. Then they cry like a bunch of babies.
First it's like...
"The iPod is the greatest invention since toilet paper, and everything else is garbage. Did I mention that I'm better than you?"
Then it's like...
"Waaaaaaah! My brand new iPod that I only bought because it comes in a new color even though there was nothing wrong with my old one doesn't fit my old iPod dock. Waaaaaah!"

You're completely missing my point. Yes, Windows users whine all the time. The difference is that they don't act like their shit is magical and better than everyone else's... bug proof, virus proof, etc... just because it costs twice as much and some douche in a turtleneck told them so.

Except that it doesn't cost twice as much, to the point where a non-trivial number of power users and developers choose to run Windows on Apple hardware. (Seriously, saw it myself at a Microsoft .NET seminar, of all places). Meanwhile Intel is subsidizing Macbook Air clones (the Taiwanese make them at a loss and Intel makes up the difference) and they still manage to blow chunks *and* not cost significantly less.

It's not twice as much, but Apple hardware is still pretty pricey, especially when you're talking about standard desktops and laptops, and not ultraportables.
I know lots of people running Windows on Apple hardware as well, but most of them do it simply because they need access to both Windows and OSX. It's way more convenient to have a single machine, and you can't do it the other way around (or at least, it's considerably easier to run Boot Camp than it is to build a Hackintosh).

Because (even with the many, MANY things Apple-y that piss me off to no end) I want an 11" Macbook Air so g**damned bad that I'm going to start drooling if it's mentioned again.
