Die Hard Arcade, no blood?

When playing Die Hard Arcade in the latest MAME I am not noticing any blood when shooting enemies or hitting them with blade objects. I remember there definitely being blood in the Saturn version. Is this a bug in the emulation or was the arcade game censored?

There is definitely blood in the Arcade version however, I have no way of knowing if the version in MAME is different than what I remember playing.
Have you tried adjusting options in the Dip switches options? Perhaps in this version it's turned off by default.

you have to enable violence mode:
1. Start game
2. Click F2 and the click the key "9" (the one with the parenthesis above - not the one from the numpad) as many times to go to the line with the name of the game. Click on F2 again to enter the game settings, again click on "9" as many times as needed to go to the line with the violence mode, then click on F2 to set it on. Then use the keys "9" and F2, accordingly, to exit (and thus save the settings). The game will reboot and blood will be available.
It's been a long time that I was thinking of writing a guide on how to change game settings from their BIOS/firmware menu or from DIP switches. But this needs a lot of work for one man, and it is known that I get easily bored

Thanks a lot. I had no idea there was another menu in bios settings. This fixed my problem for Golden Axe the Duel as well.

Hmm...awesome tips, Daffy. But, since your time is tight to forge a guide, it would be good to put that information in MAME Info, huh (MASH, could you...?)? Just a suggestion to centralize things...

Might be appropriate info for MAMEDev wiki but I'm not sure, especially since the game works properly without this setting. Otherwise, I'd add it. http://mamedev.org/devwiki/index.php/FAQ:Games

It likely qualifies given that it is likely a question to be asked again in the future. I'll make sure it gets added.
