Finding blaster30
#265385 - 09/30/11 03:35 PM

Hello all,

I'm trying to track down Blaster (early 30 wave version).

The game is no longer in Mame (as seen from 0.143u6). However, I cannot seem to find any information on which version it was removed, or why it was removed. The WIP stops at 0.133u1, when it was renamed from blast30.

Is there any way I can find information on this clone WIP, up until the set was removed?

Thanks.

It has been renamed to "blastero" starting in 0.143u4. Why was it changed? No idea.

Oh. So this was in fact a test version. Should have payed more attention to history.dat. Thank you Tafoid.

Should I just start storing release notes for every major and minor updates, or did you get to it in some other way Tafoid?

I happened to remember this one specifically because I'm close to the project and routinely do regression testing and deal with bug reports at mametesters.org. Generally though, any info like that can be obtained from whatsnew documents. M.A.S.H. also maintains his MAMEINFO.DAT documents at every release which is a synopsis of changes including rom shuffling/deletion which might not be mentioned in whatsnew.txt's.

Ok. That was it. Somehow I was still looking at 0.143 mameinfo.dat. No sure how that happened but it's fixed now.

Thanks Tafoid. And sorry for the bother.
