Two and a Half Men...

The new episode tonight had several arcade games in it. Donkey Kong, Galaga and several others.

There was a Galaxian to the left of the Galaga and there was a newer Gauntlet (Legends?) to the left of the Donkey Kong.

There was another machine or 2 or 3 but I couldn't make them out.

I have it on the DVR so I'll look again later.

On another show, Auction Kings, they have a few machines in the background. I think one is a Mouse Trap.

And did anyone catch the Pawn Stars where the guy wanted $1500 each for 3 games, Dig Dug, Yie-Ar Kung Fu and Super Dodgeball?!?!?!?! Only the Dig Dug wasn't powered up. All 3 looked nice and clean but not worth $1500 each!

I did see another one (might have been Auction Kings?) where they picked up a fairly beat Pacman, did a cheapo restoration, and still managed to sell it for like $1300. The game was working, but they didn't even touch the monitor. The buyer even pointed out that the sideart was vinyl instead of stenciled, and he still paid top dollar. Where are these people when I'm selling stuff??

That is the whole problem with making decent money selling arcades. If you need to move something fast, you could get as little as $100 or as much as $1000 on the same cab. The only real way to guarantee good money is if you have floor space that isn't costing you money and you can wait for the right buyer.

... if that's a reality show than pretty much all their "sales" are fictionalized crap.

That was Pawn Stars, the same series that allegedly sank $5000 into restoring a 1973 Bally E-M pinball!?!?!?!?!

There doesn't seem to be any money in it anymore. The only people who buy are collectors and freight takes the extra they would pay out of it. And everyone on eBay is looking for a steal.
